GAS CONNECTION is a document that proves you have the legal right to use natural gas in your home. It is also an agreement between you and your natural gas supplier. This article tells you how to apply for GAS CONNECTION in India.
The first step is to contact your state-owned gas company and ask for an application form. The form will ask for your personal details as well as the details of the property where you want to use natural gas.
Next, submit the form along with any required documents to your gas company. These may include proof of identity, proof of address, and proof of ownership of the property. Once your application has been received, the gas company will process it and then send someone out to inspect the property.
Once the inspection has been completed, you will be required to pay a fee for the GAS CONNECTION. After this, you will be issued with a GAS CONNECTION certificate which must be kept safe. This certificate is valid for five years and should be renewed before it expires.
It is important to keep your GAS CONNECTION certificate safe as it is needed if there are any problems with your supply of natural gas. If you move home, you will also need to take your GAS CONNECTION certificate with you and submit a new application at your new address.
GAS CONNECTION TYPES IN INDIA
There are three types of gas connections in India- piped natural gas (PNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and compressed natural gas (CNG).
Piped natural gas is a type of natural gas that is transported through a network of underground pipelines. It is the most common type of gas connection in India.
Liquefied petroleum gas, or LPG, is a type of gaseous fuel that is stored in liquid form. It is typically used for cooking and heating purposes.
Compressed natural gas, or CNG, is a type of gaseous fuel that is stored in compressed form. It is typically used as an alternative to gasoline for vehicles.
All three types of gas connections have their own advantages and disadvantages.
Piped natural gas is the most convenient type of gas connection as it does not require any storage tanks or cylinders. However, it is also the most expensive type of gas connection.
Liquefied petroleum gas is less expensive than piped natural gas but it requires the use of storage tanks or cylinders.
Compressed natural gas is the least expensive type of gas connection but it requires the use of special equipment to compress the gas into its liquid form.
